VN-Index closed the trading week at around 1,229 points, up more than 10 points compared to the end of last week. Stock investors experienced a "roller coaster" week when the market had a sharp decline at times, in the session on April 22, it dropped nearly 70 points at one point and then recovered.
Mr. Dinh Quang Hinh, Head of Macro and Market Strategy Department, VNDIRECT Securities Joint Stock Company, analyzed that the impressive recovery session on April 22 had absorbed a significant amount of previously cheap "bottom-fishing" goods, helping to reduce supply pressure in the following sessions.
Positive information about the business results of the first quarter of 2025 of enterprises is assessed by many experts that the VN-Index has created a short-term bottom.
Commenting on next week, the Analysis Department of Pintree Securities Company said that with many "big guys" continuing to announce their first quarter 2025 business results, shareholders' meetings with positive business goals... it is likely that the positive trend of VN-Index will continue next week even though the market will only trade 2 sessions before the April 30 holiday.
VN-Index recovers positively after sell-off session on April 22
"With the pre-holiday selling mentality, VN-Index may rise in doubt, with low liquidity. Cash flow is diverging, focusing only on stocks with good stories or business results. Vingroup will continue to play a major role in pulling the market, especially after the news that Vinpearl will IPO in early May" - Pintree Securities Company predicted.
According to VNDIRECT, in the two sessions before the holiday and the week after the holiday, the VN-Index is expected to retest the 1,240 - 1,241 point level (the peak of the previous recovery) and if it surpasses it, it will head towards the 1,260 - 1,270 point range. The picture of business results of listed enterprises in the first quarter of the year is positive, which will be an important support for the stock market in the short term.
"The official launch of the KRX system on May 5 will bring many new expectations to the market, opening up space to develop new products as well as aiming to upgrade the Vietnamese stock market to an emerging market by FTSE and MSCI," said Mr. Dinh Quang Hinh.
In this context, investors can continue to hold stocks with a moderate proportion, prioritizing industry groups with positive business results and good prospects in the second quarter such as banking, retail, seafood, electricity and public investment...
SHS Securities Company also believes that after the market sell-off, many stocks and groups of stocks have returned to relatively cheap valuations compared to the internal factors of the business. Investors can buy at a low proportion or consider short-term surfing to reduce investment capital.
