Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of June 1, 2025 |
On the morning of June 1, the domestic pepper market decreased slightly; pepper prices in Dak Nong decreased sharply; the world market continued to be stable and sideways.
However, in general, global pepper trade is vibrant from the beginning of 2025, with high demand in the US and China, and increased exports from Brazil and Indonesia.
According to experts, in the context of unclear US tax rates, many importers are cautious and waiting to sign new orders. Last week, shipping costs to the EU and the US increased rapidly, by about 20-30%.
Experts say that in recent days, domestic pepper prices have continuously decreased slightly, but in reality, they are still maintaining a significantly higher level than at this time of year normally.

In the short term, pepper purchasing prices may continue to fluctuate within a narrow range, depending on the export speed and the stockpiling trend of processing enterprises as well as international traders.
Currently, the overall picture of the international market is hiding many unfavorable factors. Enterprises are continuously increasing the import of goods before the new tariffs are applied, causing sea freight rates to increase dramatically. This directly pushes up the logistics costs of agricultural products, including pepper.
This price increase will reduce profit margins and lead to higher prices for consumers. However, for non-essential goods such as pepper, in the context of too high prices, it can lead to consumers cutting it out of their daily menu. This will cause low demand and drag down the market.
