Domestic pepper prices updated on the afternoon of June 5, 2025

On June 5, both domestic and world pepper markets decreased simultaneously.

According to experts, domestic pepper prices have fallen sharply due to low demand and still guaranteed supply. Meanwhile, tax barriers have not been removed, making the market cautious.

However, looking at the long-term strategy, pepper prices still have positive progress thanks to the strategy of expanding the market and promoting deep processing.

Pepper traders said that pepper prices have been on a downward trend since early April due to concerns about the new tariff policy of the US President Donald Trump administration. Uncertainties related to import tariffs have directly affected market sentiment, making trading and order signing activities more cautious.

Farmers in Dak Nong province harvest pepper

Faced with difficulties in the agricultural market, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said that in the coming time, the Ministry will focus on developing domestic consumption and export markets.

At the same time, continue to handle market issues to facilitate the export of agricultural and aquatic products to markets such as China, the US, Japan, the EU; open new markets with great potential such as Halal Muslim countries, the Middle East, Africa, etc. Take advantage of incentives from new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs), especially the CPTPP and EVFTA to boost the export of key agricultural, forestry and aquatic products, and support businesses in signing new export orders.

In addition, we will continue to monitor and grasp the situation of prices and supply of essential food and foodstuffs; coordinate with localities to support connections, promote processing and consumption of agricultural products.

Organize information, market regulations and consumer tastes, connect consumption through the system of trade and agricultural counselors in markets, domestic retail distribution chains, e-commerce platforms for agricultural products during harvest season...
