Vinh Phuc: Unleashing green industry - from clean production to sustainable development

In the context of the socio -economic transformation towards green growth and sustainable development, the requirement for cleaner production, energy saving and environmental protection is becoming an urgent requirement for businesses and localities. In Vinh Phuc province, industrial promotion has been playing the role of “midwife” for hundreds of businesses and rural industrial production establishments to approach cleaner production models, effectively use raw materials and reduce waste, gradually building a modern, environmentally friendly industry.

The conference on industrial and handicraft development, cleaner production and material saving organized by the Center for Industrial and Trade Development - Department of Industry and Trade of Vinh Phuc province recently attracted the participation of many experts, scientists , businesses and domestic organizations.

Here, the parties shared typical models and feasible solutions in implementing cleaner production - a direction that helps businesses not only minimize negative impacts on the environment but also improve production efficiency, optimize costs and increase competitiveness in the market.

Director of the Center for Industry and Trade Development Nguyen Van Chinh said: "The application of advanced technologies to save raw materials, reuse by-products, reduce emissions into the environment... is gradually being interested and implemented by businesses in the province. However, to expand the scale of application, it is necessary to have synchronous support in terms of policies, finance and especially information and technical guidance from competent agencies".

In recent years, the industrial promotion work of Vinh Phuc province has closely followed the direction of green economic development, focusing on enterprises, thereby implementing many practical activities such as supporting technology transfer, building technical demonstration models, training in cleaner production management skills, and consulting on efficient and economical energy use.

Many implemented models have brought about clear results. Typically, supporting businesses to improve production processes, install dust treatment systems, reuse treated wastewater, convert fuel from coal to electricity or biogas, etc. The applied facilities have recorded a reduction of 15-30% in solid waste, reduced production costs, and improved working conditions for workers.

In addition, the industrial promotion program also focuses on improving the capacity of staff and businesses through training courses, seminars, and connecting with consultants to create a solid foundation for replicating cleaner production models.

Towards a sustainable industrial ecosystem

Cleaner production is not just a story of a few leading enterprises but needs to become a widespread movement throughout the entire industrial ecosystem. To achieve this, according to experts, close coordination between the government, enterprises, scientific organizations and the community is needed.

Vinh Phuc province is currently developing a project to develop green - smart - sustainable industry, in which it encourages businesses to apply new technologies, participate in circular production chains, and use renewable materials.
