Similar to rice, during the slow trading week, domestic rice prices were relatively stable, some raw rice exports decreased sharply at the beginning of the week, increased and decreased in the middle of the week, then decreased and remained stable at the end of the week.
According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently OM 380 raw rice fluctuates at 7,850 - 8,000 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice fluctuates at 8,300 - 8,400 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 7,900 - 8,000; 5451 raw rice fluctuates at 9,450 - 9,550 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuates at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.
As for by-products, the prices of by-products fluctuate from 7,400 - 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 504 broken rice fluctuates at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg; the price of bran fluctuates at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Recorded in localities today, the supply of 50404, OM 380 varieties is low, transactions are sporadic, prices are stable, while other types of rice are stable in price. In An Giang, the supply is low, transactions are few, prices are stable. In Lap Vo ( Dong Thap ), the supply is sporadic, all types of rice are stable. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the buying and selling is slow, raw rice is stable.
Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), the quantity is sparse, the price of all kinds of rice is stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the quantity is small, the buying and selling transactions are deserted.
At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND14,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND16,000 - 17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.
In particular, with rice, prices of some rice products remained stable at the beginning of the week, decreased slightly continuously in the middle of the week, then reversed to increase - remaining stable at the end of the week.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to the end of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 393 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 364 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 321 USD/ton.
According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam's rice exports in the first 5 months of 2025 reached 4.5 million tons, earning 2.34 billion USD. Although the export volume increased by 12.2% compared to the same period in 2024, the value decreased by 8.9%. The average export price of rice in the first 5 months of 2025 reached only 516.4 USD/ton, down 18.7% compared to the previous year.
The Philippines continues to be Vietnam's largest rice consumer market, accounting for 41.4% of the market share, followed by Ivory Coast and China, with market shares of 11.9% and 10.3%, respectively. Compared to the same period in 2024, the value of rice exports to the Philippines decreased by 21.8%, while exports to Ivory Coast increased by 2.7 times and to China by 83.7%.
Among the 15 largest markets, rice export value increased the most in Bangladesh with an increase of 515.6 times, while Indonesia recorded the sharpest decrease, down 97.9%.
The Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines forecasts that the Philippines' rice import demand will remain high in 2025. Vietnam will continue to be the Philippines' leading rice exporter. It is forecast that the country will import about 4.35 million tons of rice from Vietnam in 2025.
Agricultural experts believe that in order to improve capacity and export value, domestic enterprises need to continue to proactively diversify markets, increase rice exports to new markets such as Europe, the US, Japan, the Middle East, West Asia, Africa, etc. At the same time, take advantage of free trade agreements to enjoy tariff incentives and conquer and increase rice exports to new markets.
