Domestic pepper prices updated on the afternoon of May 14, 2025

Recorded on May 14, domestic and world pepper prices remained stable, fluctuated little and remained at a high level.

According to experts, although pepper output this year is still limited, domestic purchasing prices have not met farmers' expectations, so they still choose the time to bring it to the market. However, pepper prices this year are still higher than last year, but replanting this crop is not strong because there is no new land or farmers are planting crops with higher economic value.

Business circles believe that from now until the end of the year, supply and demand will remain the most important factor. The global market is still in short supply, which will support pepper prices to increase again in the medium and long term.

In the short term, domestic pepper prices are forecast to remain high, ranging from VND150,000 to VND152,000 per kilogram, due to limited supply and stable export demand. Pepper growers need to pay attention to weather conditions and factors affecting output to have appropriate production plans.

The Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) said that in the context of many global fluctuations, the Vietnamese pepper industry needs a more sustainable and flexible development strategy to adapt effectively. For the pepper industry to develop steadily in the future, it is necessary to prioritize a number of specific solutions such as increasing commercial value through improving product quality, enhancing traceability and diversifying revenue sources, especially in intercropping models.
