Tourists and locals are delighted and impressed when admiring the unique works of art created from fruits at Suoi Tien.

On the morning of June 9, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area (HCMC) together with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, the Department of Tourism, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of HCMC held an award ceremony and concluded the Fruit Sculpting Art Contest.

Among them, the work Dat Viet - Glory to Lac Hong's descendants by contestant Lam Minh Tien from Dong Nai won the gold medal.

The fruit sculpture art contest is one of the main activities of this year's Southern Fruit Festival, taking place at Suoi Tien tourist area, Ho Chi Minh City.

Over 27 years of formation and development, the competition has contributed to preserving, developing and honoring the traditional arts of the people of the Southern land. This is also the activity most anticipated by domestic and foreign tourists.

Present at the exhibition space, Mr. Nguyen Ba Anh, a tourist from Binh Duong, shared: "These fruit sculptures are so eye-catching, they are like real works of art. I didn't think they could create such impressive images from fruit. The images of Uncle Ho and General Vo Nguyen Giap are so lifelike."

Children enjoy the works made from fruit.

This year's artists come from many provinces and cities: Ben Tre, Tien Giang, Long An, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City. The 2024 "Fruit Sculpting Art Contest" honors works created by the minds and skillful hands of artisans.

With enthusiasm, passion and love for the profession, 15 teams have worked hard to prepare, closely following the theme and creating works with impressive names: Vietnam - The glorious descendants of Lac Hong, The historic victory of Dien Bien Phu - 70 years of the heroic epic, Ho Chi Minh - His name forever shines, Southern Fruit Festival - 20 years of a journey...
