In the northern central provinces, the price of live pigs increased by VND1,000 to VND69,000/kg in Nghe An; Ha Tinh VND68,000/kg. In contrast, the south central region decreased by VND1,000 in Lam Dong, to VND73,000/kg. The highest price of live pigs in the central and Central Highlands regions was VND74,000/kg, maintained in Ninh Thuan. Other provinces and cities kept prices from VND68,000 - VND73,000/kg.
In the Southern region, the price of live pigs decreased simultaneously in many localities . The decrease of 2,000 VND was recorded in Can Tho to 73,000 VND/kg and Ben Tre to 72,000 VND/kg. Many provinces and cities also decreased by 1,000 VND: Long An to 75,000 VND/kg; the livestock capital Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Tien Giang, Dong Thap to 74,000 VND/kg and Vinh Long to 73,000 VND/kg. The remaining localities are 74,000 VND/kg.
The average price of live pigs nationwide is 70,800 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the Chinese market keeps the price low at 52,100 VND/kg.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of pork at wholesale markets ranges from 85,000 - 90,000 VND/kg. Retail prices of meat at distribution channels have not fluctuated much, some popular items such as pig tail 230,000 VND/kg, cutlets 114,000 VND/kg, thigh meat 145,000 VND/kg, pork belly 215,000 VND/kg, ribless pork belly 250,000 VND/kg, boneless pork leg 151,000 VND/kg, lean meat 190,000 VND/kg.../.
