Bon Jrang K'Yem's family is dedicated to preserving traditional cultural values. |
As a hard-working, diligent woman who does not accept poverty, recently, Ms. K'Yem's family boldly borrowed preferential capital from the District Social Policy Bank for 50 million VND to invest in production development. With the capital, Ms. K'Yem boldly converted the crop and livestock structure on her family's land towards commodity production, applying scientific and technical advances into practice. She has converted from ineffective cashew land to models with higher economic value such as: planting 0.2 hectares of mulberry to raise silkworms, investing in intensive coffee cultivation and taking care of cocoa gardens, intercropping with dwarf Thai jackfruit and raising local black pigs. In addition, she also takes advantage of the vacant land behind the house to grow green vegetables, raise chickens for daily life and supply to the market. “To improve my knowledge and production skills, I always work hard and actively participate in technical training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry organized by the Women's Union and the district and commune agricultural sector,” said Ms. Bon Jrang K'Yem.
In addition to economic development, Ms. K'Yem's family is also one of the households actively preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the M'nong ethnic group. Her family is one of the factors actively participating in preserving the traditional culture of the district; participating in the Gong Club of the commune; maintaining the traditional brocade weaving and wine brewing of her ethnic group to supply the market, contributing to promoting the unique cultural beauty of the locality to tourists.
Thanks to her diligence, creativity and ability to seize opportunities, her family's average income reaches over 500 million VND/year. Thanks to that, Bon Jrang K'Yem's family has the means to buy valuable equipment for family life and invest in taking care of their children's education. In addition to focusing on business and escaping poverty, she also actively participates in the women's movement in the village, sharing business experiences with disadvantaged female members to progress and rise up in life.
Ms. Ro Yam K'Khim - President of the Women's Union of Da Tong commune, commented: "Ms. Bon Jrang K'Yem is one of the exemplary members, not only active in the emulation movement "5 no, 3 clean" but also a shining example in labor production, preserving national cultural identity and building a happy family. This is a remarkable result of a female member with great determination and will to rise up".
Ms. Bon Jrang K'Yem is a beautiful image, creating a strong influence and inspiration for many ethnic minority women on the path to poverty reduction and sustainable enrichment.
