The opening night of Dien Bien National Tourism Year and the 2024 Ban Flower Festival brought visitors a spectacular performance night with elaborately staged art performances.

With the theme "Glory of Dien Bien Phu - Endless Experience", Dien Bien National Tourism Year along with the 2024 Ban Flower Festival are impressive events towards the historical milestone - 70 years of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

In his opening speech, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong emphasized that 70 years ago, under the leadership of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh , General Vo Nguyen Giap, and the support and assistance of international friends, our army and people achieved the Dien Bien Phu victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world".

Over the past 70 years, Dien Bien has become a friendly and attractive destination, leaving a good impression in the hearts of friends and tourists.

Dien Bien hopes to welcome more people and tourists to the locality during the National Tourism Year to explore, experience and promote the image of Dien Bien land and people on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed that the theme of the National Tourism Year 2024 is built on the heroic echoes of the Dien Bien Phu Victory along with the crystallization of the majestic nature of the borderland and the image of the Ban flower expressing the typical beauty of Dien Bien land with the aspiration for peace.

Coming to Dien Bien today, visitors can also experience the majesty of the wild, overlapping mountains, mountain passes, seas of clouds, stilt houses, terraced fields and traditional festivals.

Hoa ban has entered the subconscious, cultural life and spirit of many ethnic groups in the Northwest, as a symbol of immortal love, expressing the eternal desire of the ethnic community for eternal happiness.

After the opening ceremony, the art program "Returning to the land of Ban flowers" with three chapters: "Dien Bien - the legendary land", "Dien Bien - traveling with the wings", "Dien Bien - the flower seasons connecting all directions" took visitors to explore this heroic land.

Arriving in Dien Bien City with his whole family on March 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Linh (HCMC) felt lucky to enjoy the festival atmosphere in Dien Bien on the opening night.

"I am very impressed by the strong spread and interest of people and tourists from all over the country for the opening program of the National Tourism Year - Ban Flower Festival 2024.

The program was very impressive, our whole family was also very excited, looking forward to the journey to explore Dien Bien during this vacation," Mr. Linh expressed.
