Tourists "accuse" that dragon boat rides only allow them to see the dark scene on the Perfume River

Authorities in Hue city are verifying and responding to people's opinions related to dragon boat tourism services on the Perfume River after receiving feedback from a tourist family.

According to the report, a man from Hue brought his family back to his hometown for the April 30-May 1 holiday and used the dragon boat service for 400,000 VND for a 30-minute tour.

However, the family was disappointed when the boat only had 2 small lights and did not pass through prominent places such as Truong Tien and Phu Xuan bridges, but only hovered around the dark Con Hen area.

"At this time, the scenery on both sides of the Perfume River was dark, there was nothing to see, my wife and children began to feel worried and disappointed. My 7-year-old daughter kept asking to go back. I tried to reassure her that the boat would pass by beautiful spots such as Cau Moi, Thuong Bac, Phu Van Lau, places that I believed would bring a wonderful experience for the family," the male tourist reflected.

This man has petitioned the Hue city government and relevant agencies to inspect and rectify the dragon boat service to ensure the service quality is commensurate with the cost that tourists pay.

Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Chief of Office of Hue City People's Committee, said that the locality is strengthening inspection and handling of cases affecting the tourism environment.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee has directed the development of a project to establish an interdisciplinary team to handle problems affecting tourism.

Recently, Dan Tri reporters have also received many complaints about parking fees being higher than the regulations at tourist attractions in Hue.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that her family is often charged 7,000 VND/motorbike at Thuan An beach, while the regulated fee is only 2,000-4,000 VND.

It was noted that during the April 30-May 1 holiday, many tourists were charged higher parking fees than the regulations at the beaches.

The Chief of Office of Hue City People's Committee said that there will be a document requesting inspection and strict handling of violations.
