Tourists walk underwater to admire the wondrous world of Phu Quoc Island.
There are currently three popular forms of scuba diving to explore the ocean in Kien Giang. Seawalking, a type of scuba diving in Phu Quoc City that has emerged in recent years, is the most popular choice for tourists. With this type of activity, visitors can walk underwater to admire the beautiful coral reefs in the most realistic way.
Throughout the underwater walk, visitors are equipped with a special transparent helmet and provided with oxygen so they can breathe while observing the coral. A guide also accompanies them throughout the journey; visitors simply need to follow the guide's instructions to experience walking on the seabed, admiring hundreds of coral species and schools of colorful fish.

Scuba diving is also quite popular among tourists due to its unique experience. This is a professional form of coral reef diving using specialized equipment and oxygen tanks. With this method, tourists can view coral reefs at various depths, instead of just near the shore like other types of scuba diving. This type of diving is more suitable for tourists who already know how to swim.
Additionally, tourists can choose to snorkel to see coral reefs. This is the simplest form of snorkeling; tourists only need to wear a life vest, goggles, and a snorkel, and put their face in the water to see the vibrant coral reefs. This type of activity is suitable for young children, the elderly, and even those who don't know how to swim. However, this type of activity is only suitable for snorkeling near the shore, and tourists may miss out on the beautiful coral reefs in more distant waters.

Mr. Nguyen Ha Trieu, General Manager of the 5-star Nautilus Phu Quoc cruise ship, said: “Depending on their preferences and budget, tourists can choose the appropriate coral reef snorkeling activity. In Phu Quoc City, tourists often choose the underwater walking service, strolling on the fine white sand, with coral reefs swaying in the ocean currents on both sides of the path, creating a magnificent scene. Phu Quoc City not only has beautiful scenery on its islands, but the underwater world is also vibrant and colorful.”

According to Mr. Trieu, the coral reef in Phu Quoc City is considered one of the most beautiful in Vietnam, covering an area of about 480 hectares with more than 360 species of hard corals and many species of soft corals such as sea anemones, staghorn corals, plate corals, willow corals… and more than 100 different species of fish, along with pearls, sea cucumbers, and giant clams.
To admire the beauty of the coral reefs in Phu Quoc City, tourists can experience scuba diving in areas such as Hon Thom, Hon Roi, Hon Dau, Hon Dua, Hon Gam Ghi, Ganh Dau, Bai Thom, Rach Vem, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “This was my first time experiencing walking underwater to see coral reefs and fish, and I found it very exciting. The schools of fish swimming around me gave me a feeling of closeness to nature and the vast ocean. What I enjoyed most was being able to feed the fish by hand and touch each fish with its different colors... It's a wonderful feeling that you can only fully appreciate the uniqueness of this type of tourism by experiencing it yourself.”
Currently in Phu Quoc City, tourists can participate in scuba diving tours at Phu Quoc Coral Park, Ngoc Hien Sea, Ocean World, Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park, etc. The ideal time for scuba diving is from November of the previous year to April of the following year. To ensure safety while scuba diving, tourists should follow the instructions and recommendations of the tour guide.
The vibrant blue ocean world with its lively coral reefs, dazzling colors, and diverse marine life in Phu Quoc City is definitely an unmissable experience when exploring the pearl island.
Most tourists who have experienced scuba diving share the same opinion: travel enthusiasts must try scuba diving at least once to explore the ocean. When immersed in the clear blue water, a magical, colorful space unfolds before their eyes, making them feel as if they have entered a completely different world of nature.
