During the holidays, the number of visitors to Ha Tinh's coastal tourist areas and spots increased dramatically. Mr. Pham Van Tuan - Head of the Management Board of Thien Cam Tourist Area (Cam Xuyen) said: "During the 5-day holiday, Thien Cam welcomed more than 100,000 visitors, an increase of 15% over the same period last year; the number of guests staying reached nearly 23,000, the room occupancy rate reached 100%. Many hotels could not meet the demand for guests booking rooms close to the holiday."
Similarly, on this occasion, Xuan Thanh Tourist Area (Nghi Xuan) welcomed more than 130,000 visitors (an increase of nearly 60,000 compared to the same period in 2024), of which 14,334 stayed (an increase of 5,876 compared to the same period). Other tourist areas and spots such as Xuan Hai beach (Loc Ha town, Thach Ha), Quynh Vien Resort (Thach Hai, Ha Tinh city), Ky Ninh beach (Ky Anh town)... also welcomed a large number of visitors.
Besides sea tourism, eco-tourism and spiritual destinations also attract a large number of visitors such as: Rao An (Son Kim 1, Huong Son), Hai Thuong cultural and eco-tourism area (Huong Son); Da Bac Eco-tourism area (Nam Dien, Thach Ha); Dong Loc T-junction (Can Loc); Hong Lam Camping (Nghi Xuan)... In which, during the 5-day holiday, Da Bac Eco-tourism area attracted more than 15,000 visitors, Dong Loc T-junction reached 26,000 visitors...
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays, the whole province welcomed an estimated 734,600 visitors, of which 69,688 were overnight visitors (an increase of 31% over the same period in 2024) and 1,695 were foreign visitors (an increase of 102%). Some localities welcomed a large number of visitors such as Nghi Xuan (over 206,000), Cam Xuyen (162,000), Ky Anh Town (148,000), Thach Ha (66,000), Huong Son (18,000)...
The special feature of this year's holiday is that the number of guests staying increased quite a bit, reaching 69,688 (an increase of 16,792 over the same period in 2024), of which Huong Son - a locality purely focused on eco-tourism and culture - also had a strong growth in guests staying during the last holiday, reaching 9,500. This is a very optimistic signal, because according to experts, guests staying are an indicator of the growth of the tourism industry.
To achieve the above results, in recent times, the management boards of tourist areas, points and business units across the province have made constant efforts to build destination infrastructure, strengthen the construction of many new and attractive products, improve service quality and focus on promotion work... Mr. Tran Minh Duc - Head of the Management Board of Public Services and Tourist Spots of Nghi Xuan district said: "This year, we have built and put into service the following products: cruise to enjoy folk songs on the My Duong River (freshwater stream in the tourist area), seafood night market combined with displaying local agricultural products, creating check-in points with 1,000 traditional lanterns on the route of the tourist area square; building many free freshwater bathing spots, night food stalls...".
Some other tourist areas and spots across the province also have invested in building many new products, typically: Thien Cam (Cam Xuyen), Hai Thuong (Huong Son), Da Bac Eco...
One of the factors that helped tourists, especially those staying at hotels, choose Ha Tinh as their destination during the recent holiday was the convenient transportation with the North-South expressway. Many people chose Ha Tinh for their holiday because of its easy and time-saving travel. Spending time during the holiday at Thien Cam tourist area, Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) expressed: "Compared to before, it took us 6-8 hours to travel from Hanoi to Ha Tinh, now thanks to the North-South expressway, it only takes us 4 hours. That makes it easier for us to choose Ha Tinh beach instead of other places."
According to a survey, about 70-75% of guests booking rooms for the April 30 and May 1 holidays came from Hanoi and the northern provinces.
In addition to the above factors, Ha Tinh tourism attracts visitors during the holidays thanks to effective promotion. In particular, the fact that localities across the province simultaneously organized the opening of sea tourism with many exciting activities before the holiday, on April 26 and 27, contributed to helping tourists from all over choose Ha Tinh as a destination.
Although the number of visitors to destinations is quite large and the number of guests staying has increased, Ha Tinh tourism during the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays still has limitations that need to be overcome in the coming time. Mr. Nguyen Tien Trinh - General Director of Thanh Sen Joint Stock Company (Ha Tinh City) expressed: "The reality is that although recently, in tourist areas and spots, there have been a number of new hotels, the number of rooms is still not enough to meet the needs of tourists. We regret having to turn away many groups of guests because the accommodation facilities during the holidays are "full". In addition, there is still a need for more attractive products at tourist areas and spots and higher quality services to retain tourists when they return to Ha Tinh...".
The large number of tourists visiting and relaxing during the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays brought many positive signals to the Ha Tinh tourism industry. We appreciate the change in thinking in tourism of businesses and people. Previously, many places only waited for the urging of management agencies, but now, businesses and people have proactively built and promoted their products and destinations, thereby improving service quality, cultural behavior in communication, sales to attract tourists... We hope that the achieved results combined with many advantages such as the North - South expressway continuing to be open will be the driving force for businesses and individuals to increase investment in building infrastructure and tourism products in the coming time.
