DNVN - For the first time in Vietnam, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) training program oriented towards American-standard digital management thinking of the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) - a school that has achieved AACSB accreditation for 30 consecutive years - has been fully transferred for implementation in the country.

The opportunity to own an American standard MBA degree is closer

On November 25 in Hanoi , the seminar “US Management Thinking: Preparation for Business Leaders” took place, and the MBA program oriented towards digital management thinking in cooperation between CU Denver and FSB was also announced. With the orientation towards digital management thinking, the program marks a new step in bringing international training standards closer to the Vietnamese business community.

In the minds of thousands of Vietnamese business managers, owning an American standard MBA degree has long been a symbol of quality and opportunity to reach out to the world . However, to realize the "dream" one must also overcome many big "barriers" such as: expensive costs, time away from family due to geographical distance, gaps in career experience...

In that context, the MBA program from the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) was fully implemented in Vietnam for the first time in cooperation with the FSB Institute of Management & Technology (FPT Group), which is of great significance.

Speakers participating in the panel discussion.

Ms. Alexandra Greig-Duarte, Foreign Affairs Officer of the US Embassy in Vietnam expressed support for this model.

“The MBA program jointly implemented by CU Denver and FSB is an excellent combination of US education - famous for its practical and creative thinking, with FPT's management experience, technological capacity and practical approach,” the female Diplomat analyzed.

Not only emphasizing the academic value, Ms. Alexandra Greig-Duarte also sees the program as an important “link” in the Vietnam-US relationship. According to her, the US is always committed to supporting Vietnam in the process of global integration, especially in the field of high-quality human resources - a resource that plays a decisive role in the era of technological competition.

“We believe in the future of Vietnam. Investing in education and people is the right choice. We hope that this MBA program will contribute to training new leaders for Vietnam in the digital age.”

Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States, who has more than 10 years of diplomatic work in the US, noted that for the past 30 years, CU Denver has continuously owned AACSB accreditation - a quality standard that only less than 10% of schools in the world have achieved. Possessing an AACSB-accredited MBA is a great competitive advantage in the global labor market, where businesses highly value personnel with a foundation of standard management and a global mindset.

Mr. Vinh expressed his hope that the MBA program implemented by FSB and CU Denver will create a "push" to raise Vietnam's education standards in the direction of increasingly approaching international education standards.

The MBA program jointly implemented by CU Denver and FSB is an American standard program, oriented towards digital management thinking, bringing the entire training model to implement in Vietnam, without shortening, without changing the structure, etc. Studying in Vietnam, the program, curriculum, lecturers and assessment standards all maintain the same as those applied by CU Denver in the US. In other words, Vietnamese students can access American educational standards without having to go abroad.

Mr. Scott Dawson - Dean of the School of Business, CU Denver said that the value that makes the difference in the US approach to management education is the management foundation built on practicality, data-based thinking, the ability to measure results and the ability to transform knowledge into skills.

CU Denver's MBA program is designed to be immediately applicable to the workplace, through management simulations, case studies from global businesses, real-world projects, and a US-standard assessment system.

“MBA programs from the US are generally branded, prestigious and of good quality. By participating in the CU Denver program, students are not only trained in business knowledge and skills but also in innovative and comprehensive management thinking. The school also has a large alumni community and a series of activities to support students not only in their studies but also in international business activities,” Mr. Scott listed some of the outstanding “plus points” of his school.

He also revealed one of the reasons why CU Denver wants to bring the program to Vietnam: “We see FPT as an innovative corporation, and FSB is also a unit that is ready to turn theory into practice with a spirit of determination and can-do spirit.”

Sharing the reason for choosing CU Denver as a partner, Ms. Nguyen Kim Anh, Vice Principal in charge of academics at FPT University, FPT Corporation, said that when cooperating in international training, FPT set three criteria: Partners with academic reputation, with clear quality accreditation; Being in the official education system, belonging to the group of schools with good rankings on global rankings; Ready to transfer a comprehensive program - including learning materials, methods, instructor training and quality assurance processes. And CU Denver fully meets all three of those criteria.

Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Head of Training Department, FSB Institute of Management & Technology, informed about the program.

Bridging the gap, shortening the journey into the global business ecosystem

Regarding the Colorado Denver MBA program, Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Head of Training Department of FSB Institute of Management & Technology, FPT Corporation, said that the program is taught according to the curriculum, methods and assessment standards of CU Denver; at the same time, practical situations from Vietnamese enterprises are supplemented to ensure that students can "localize" US management thinking into the reality of domestic business operations.

Students will study entirely in English, access international learning materials and participate in real-life projects under the guidance of CU Denver lecturers and FPT University's team of experts.

Upon graduating from the program, students will receive an MBA degree awarded by CU Denver, recognized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, and equivalent to studying in the United States.

Mr. Huy emphasized the program's ability to support three core competencies that new-age leaders need to have.

One is comprehensive management knowledge: not only understanding each small part, managers must look at problems systematically - from finance, human resources, marketing to operations, strategy... American MBA helps build this foundation systematically.

Second is digital skills and data-based decision making. Many young people are very good at technology but do not know how to apply it to solve business problems. On the contrary, many experienced managers lack a technology foundation. The MBA program will help people who are good at technology learn more management skills, and people who are good at management will be supplemented with technology skills.

Third is pioneering thinking and adaptability. Pioneering thinking does not come from listening to someone else, but from knowledge, skills and practical experience. When studying an American standard MBA program, students will feel more confident, more daring, and dare to do new things.

“In addition, students in Vietnam have the opportunity to join the ecosystem of more than 20,000 CU Denver – FPT students and alumni, a “valuable asset” for any leader looking for opportunities to expand the market, cooperate or advance their career in the global market,” Mr. Huy added.

The first American-standard MBA program from CU Denver in Vietnam is not only an educational event but also a declaration that Vietnamese people can completely access the elite of global management in a proactive, effective and least restrictive way.
