Bringing Gia Lai's gongs and Jrai musical instruments to perform in Korea

At the invitation of Jeonju Kijeon University (Korea), a group of 14 artisans from Pleiku city and Ia Grai district performed in Korea at the 2023 Jeonju International Sori Festival.

This is the first time that Jrai folk instruments and melodies have been introduced on a Korean stage. Mr. Rcom Bus, a member of the troupe, said that he participated in almost all 7 performances in the 40-minute program. These were 2 gong pieces and performances of ting ning, kơ ni, flute solo, folk songs, etc.

In the group of 14 artisans going to Korea this time, Rcom Bus, born in 2002, in Pleiku Roh, Yen Do ward, Pleiku city is the youngest.

Mr. Rcom Bus said that he will participate in almost all 7 performances in the 40-minute program. These are 2 gong songs and performances of ting ning, kơ ni, flute solo, folk songs... Rcom Bus said that the performances all have cheerful and lively melodies, introducing to international friends the unique and rustic features of traditional musical instruments and the simple life of the Central Highlands people. The group brings the culture of the homeland to friends from all over the world to enjoy, promoting the beauty of the Central Highlands people, of the Vietnamese people.

The Jejonju International Sori Festival is an annual festival held in the fall at the Sori Art Center in Jeonbuk Province, South Korea. This year's festival runs from September 15 to September 24. This is the first time that Jrai folk instruments and melodies have been introduced on the Korean stage./.
