Sin Ho Plateau is a land with rich tourism potential with picturesque landscapes, unique cultural features of ethnic minorities, high-quality agricultural products, making Sin Ho known as the second Sa Pa of the Northwest. These advantages are promoting this place to become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
Sin Ho is a highland border district, mainly inhabited by ethnic groups: Mong, Dao, Thai... With an average altitude of more than 1,500m above sea level, the climate in Sin Ho plateau is cool all year round, the average temperature during the year is only about 18 degrees Celsius, the climate of 4 seasons rotates in a day, this is an ideal condition for tourism development.
Sin Ho has many famous attractions such as: Nam Luc waterfall, Da O mountain, Ong Tien cave, ancient tea hills... This place still preserves many traditional cultural features of ethnic groups. Visitors coming here can enjoy: bamboo rice, smoked buffalo meat, corn wine, medicinal baths... and buy typical products such as: brocade, sticky rice, wild honey, Lai Chau ginseng...
Rich in potential but to exploit effectively, Sin Ho needs the synchronous participation of all parties, from the central to local levels, to create open policies and attract large investors. According to Ms. Ly Thi Na - Acting Chairwoman of Sin Ho District People's Committee, the district is promoting the construction of transport infrastructure, electricity, water, communications, improving the business environment, supporting human resource training, promoting the image of Sin Ho to domestic and foreign tourists. In the near future, Sin Ho district will become an indispensable destination for tourists and tourism units in the region.
Having the opportunity to visit Sin Ho, visitors should not miss the opportunity to admire the beauty of Nam Luc waterfall (Phang So Lin commune, Sin Ho district).
Tourists who want to explore the Sin Ho plateau are now more convenient than before thanks to the upgraded, clean and beautiful traffic system. In addition, they can choose many types of personal vehicles such as motorbikes, bicycles or cars to the centers of communes, villages... to experience and immerse themselves in the wild nature of the Northwest mountains and forests. Provincial Road 129 leading from Lai Chau city to the center of Sin Ho town, about 60km long, has recently been upgraded, winding around the mountain slopes like a silk strip across the cool green forests, the Mong and Dao villages hidden in the clouds... next to the majestic deep valleys. Right from the beginning of the journey, visitors can feel the typical cold of the Northwest mountains and forests, in the winter the fog can make you lose your way. After an exciting journey, visitors often look for homestay facilities; farmstay (a model of staying on a farm) relax with the Dao people's medicinal bath service, soak in a "po mu" wooden barrel, enjoy chicken soup with Chinese herbs and massage, acupressure, help dispel fatigue.
Growing medicinal plants in Sin Ho has brought great economic value, including income from developing ecotourism. Currently, in Sa De Phin commune, there are 2 enterprises investing in growing medicinal plants, and at the same time developing accommodation models (farmstay), namely Thai Minh High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company and Sao Do - Tay Bac Joint Stock Company. The fact that tourists can visit, take photos in ginseng gardens, experience buying ginseng, growing ginseng, harvesting ginseng, combined with resort tourism, is one of the unforgettable experiences.
Mr. Tan A Xoang - Head of the District Department of Culture and Information said: "Sin Ho has a lot of potential for tourism development, but it has not been deeply exploited. The biggest difficulty at present is still investment capital, attracting businesses to invest in tourism development in the locality. Therefore, the district is promoting tourism promotion activities,
With the potential and advantages of Sin Ho, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) is consulting and proposing to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to include Sin Ho plateau in the list of national tourist areas and plan the national tourism system with a vision to 2045. Currently, many investors have conducted surveys and research to propose investment projects to develop tourism in the district. The DOCST is also coordinating with Sin Ho district and relevant agencies to provide information, advice and guide businesses to carry out survey and investment steps in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the planning and actual conditions of the locality. These are necessary activities to gradually develop Sin Ho tourism commensurate with its available potential, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
