Queen pineapple makes people in this district of Nghe An very happy.
At this time, in Quynh Thang, Tan Thang, Quynh Chau communes, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An, the largest pineapple growing areas in Nghe An province, people are harvesting pineapples. This year, pineapples have a good harvest, with large, even fruits. Especially the Queen pineapple variety, which people often call the Queen pineapple, has high productivity.

Currently, traders buy pineapples right at the field at prices ranging from 7,000 - 7,500 VND/kg. This price is about 25% higher than last year, so queen pineapple growers are very excited.
Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, a resident of Quynh Thang commune, said that his family grows more than 1 hectare of pineapple. When harvesting, traders come to the field to buy. This year's pineapple crop is expected to yield about 40 tons of queen pineapple, earning nearly 300 million VND.

According to the people of Quynh Thang commune, this year the weather is favorable, so the pineapples have high productivity and good quality. In particular, the Queen pineapple variety has a yield of about 35 tons/ha.
Families with large areas often plant in separate seasons, so they have been harvesting since early March. When the pineapples are ready for harvest, traders from all over drive large trucks to the gardens to buy them. Depending on the size and quality of the pineapples, the prices vary.

Since being planted on the hills in Tan Thang, Quynh Thang, and Quynh Chau communes, pineapples have proven to be very suitable for the soil and climate conditions here. Pineapples here have a fragrant aroma and a rich, sweet taste, so they are very popular with consumers.
Growing queen pineapple using organic methods, the fruit is big, fragrant and sweet.
"During the main season, people harvest a lot, the output is large but the price of pineapple still increases and remains high. At this time last year, the price was only 5,000 - 5,500 VND/kg, but this year the price is still at over 7,000 VND/kg, which is very rare. It is even difficult for us to buy large quantities," said Mr. Vinh - a trader who regularly buys pineapples in Quynh Luu district.

Mr. Ho Huy Kien - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quynh Thang Commune said that in previous years, the Farmers' Association of the Commune coordinated with functional units to organize many training courses, instructing people to grow pineapples using organic methods. Up to now, growing pineapples using organic methods has become a habit of the people. Pineapple is also safer and of better quality, so it is favored by the market.

The entire Quynh Luu district has 1,300 hectares of pineapple cultivation. Of which, Tan Thang commune alone has more than 1,100 hectares. In this locality, about 90% of the area is used by people to grow the queen pineapple variety.
