After 5 days of exciting, practical and emotional activities, on the afternoon of May 30, in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province, the National Library Staff Festival to promote reading culture and introduce books - celebrating major holidays and important historical events of the country in 2025 with the theme "National Epic" closed and awarded prizes.

The National Library Staff Festival to promote reading culture and introduce books has been identified by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the important activities to celebrate the major holidays and important historical events of the country in 2025, especially the 50th anniversary of the victory in the Central Highlands Campaign and the Great Spring Victory in 1975, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

With 33 programs participating in this year's Festival, the participating delegations introduced 37 works about the victory of the Central Highlands Campaign - opening the General Offensive and Uprising in the whole South; about the value, historical stature and contemporary significance of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, liberating the South, unifying the country; about the historical tradition, the heroic struggles of our army and people in the cause of construction, protection, innovation and development to write "Epics of the Country".

Comrade Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Head of the Festival Jury, assessed that the works introduced at the festival had diverse and rich content, many forms of expression from evidence, historical documents, memoirs to literary works on this topic.

The works have brought readers more understanding, many multi-dimensional and easily accessible perspectives on the strength of solidarity, the will to unify the Fatherland and the aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people; thereby propagating and educating all classes of people, especially the young generation, about the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary struggle, national pride, the aspiration to contribute, leading the country steadily into a new era, an era of strong development, prosperity and well-being of the nation.

The Festival Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the groups that won the Special Topic Prize.

The book introduction competition had many impressive performances in terms of content and presentation, moving delegates and audiences. Many groups were creative in their performance, making the most of the support from sound effects, lighting, and technology, making the performance attractive and impressive. At the same time, librarians and cultural sector officials were also very successful in their talent competition with creative singing, dancing, skits, and scenes, reflecting many traditional local and professional colors, creating a diverse picture of the Festival.

The Festival Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the third prize winning teams.

In addition, the competition introducing models and initiatives in serving books, newspapers and documents introduced to delegates, the Organizing Committee, the Jury, the participating delegations as well as a large audience new, creative and effective models in spreading and developing reading culture, serving lifelong learning for local people, agencies and units .

In her closing speech at the Festival, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library Nguyen Thi Thu Hien highly appreciated and commended the enthusiastic participation and dedication of the 33 delegations attending this year's Festival.

All delegations have paid attention and invested carefully and seriously from the time of registration, program and script development, practice organization to performing their entries on stage.

Librarians participating in the Festival confidently demonstrated their abilities, bravery, and public speaking skills to share their passion for their work and profession and introduce good, valuable books to the community, building the image of librarians in the new, modern, dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic era.

From different regions of the country, despite many difficulties in the implementation process, librarians in the public library system, armed forces libraries and university libraries across the country have creatively applied and diversified content and forms, especially increasingly enhancing the application of information technology and digital transformation in accordance with the practical conditions of resources, human resources and facilities of the unit to bring the highest efficiency in serving books, newspapers and documents, bringing the light of knowledge to serve the people.

Many models have been implemented to support the blind in accessing knowledge sources; bringing books and newspapers to remote areas, border areas, islands, areas with difficult socio-economic conditions, ethnic minority areas, industrial zones, prisons and detention camps across the country.

The Festival Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the delegations that won the first prize of the Festival.

The service models introduced at the Festival did not stop at presentation ideas but many activities were effectively implemented in practice during the process of serving readers. The results achieved were vividly demonstrated through images and extremely impressive actual numbers.

However, in addition to the above results and strengths, during the preparation process, some participating delegations have not yet ensured the requirements and time to send programs, scripts, video clips, etc. to the Organizing Committee. At the same time, through monitoring, the Organizing Committee has found that during the Festival, there are still situations where members of some delegations have not fully participated and have not promoted the spirit of learning from experience in the competitions. Some delegations place too much importance on the form of dramatization and have not paid attention to the main content of the Festival, which is to introduce books...

Award winning teams at the Festival.

Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library Nguyen Thi Thu Hien hopes: "With the contest programs that are elaborately staged and put in a lot of effort and enthusiasm, the delegations participating in the Festival, after returning to their localities and units, will continue to propagate and promote on mass media, cyberspace... to continue to introduce and spread the good values ​​and meanings of the works to the community, contributing to the development of reading culture as well as arousing national pride and love for the homeland in all classes of people".

As a result of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 6 Excellent prizes; 8 First prizes; 9 Second prizes; 10 Third prizes and 4 Special prizes to the participating teams.

In addition, the Organizing Committee will post videos of the 33 participating teams on the Youtube channel “Books and Vietnamese Intelligence” for the audience to vote. Based on the results of public voting from the community, the Organizing Committee will announce the “Most Voted Program” award on cyberspace and mass media, and send the award to the winning unit in mid-June 2025.
