Stop moving facilities, still start school year at old school

Accordingly, the Chairman of Vinh Thuan District People's Committee requested to stop the transfer of Thi Tran Secondary School (transfer of cadres, civil servants, teachers, employees, students and facilities - referred to as the old school) in Vinh Dong 1 ward, Vinh Thuan town to Vinh Thuan Town Primary and Secondary School (referred to as the new school) in Vinh Phuoc 2 ward, Vinh Thuan town.

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, Thi Tran Secondary School will start teaching and learning at Thi Tran Secondary School, located in Vinh Dong 1 quarter, Vinh Thuan town.

"The Departmentof Education and Training is assigned to direct the Town Secondary School to organize the opening ceremony of the new school year 2024-2025, and at the same time organize teaching and learning at the Town Secondary School, located in Vinh Dong 1 quarter, Vinh Thuan town, Vinh Thuan district, ensuring compliance with regulations," the document stated.

Previously, some newspapers reported that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - principal of Thi Tran Secondary School, Vinh Thuan district - had arbitrarily transferred some teaching equipment from the old school to the new school, even though he had not received any official instructions from the education sector and the district People's Committee.

When the incident was discovered, the leaders of the District Education Department twice requested to temporarily stop the relocation and wait for official instructions to proceed, but Mr. Phong not only ignored it but also acted more urgently.

Later, at a press conference to provide information, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Nguyen - Vice Chairman of Vinh Thuan District People's Committee - affirmed that the fact that a principal "arbitrarily" transferred facilities from the old location to the new location was under the district's policy but there was no official document.

However, Vinh Thuan district has not discovered any profiteering in the story of the principal "arbitrarily" transferring facilities and equipment to the new school.

The district will take strict action if any violations are found in this story.
