BHG - According to information from the Dong Van District Relic Management Board, implementing the construction plan to renovate and embellish the Lung Cu National Flagpole relic, from May 30 to June 18, visitors to the relic site will only stop at the waiting area and will not be allowed to move up to the flagpole to ensure safety, progress, technique and quality of the project.

Lung Cu National Flagpole is located at an altitude of 1,470 m above sea level, 24 km from Dong Van town. The flagpole was built according to the model of Hanoi Flagpole, with a total height of 34.85 m, the flag is 54 m2 wide, symbolizing 54 ethnic groups living together in harmony and solidarity on the territory of Vietnam. The body of the pole is designed in an octagonal shape, with 8 bronze drums and 8 green stone reliefs illustrating the stages of each historical period of the country as well as the people and customs of the ethnic groups in Ha Giang. On November 18, 2009, Lung Cu Flagpole was ranked as a National Historical Relic and Landscape by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Lung Cu National Flagpole is a tourist attraction that attracts many domestic and international tourists. Every year, the relic site welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors. Lung Cu National Flagpole is not only a symbol of national sovereignty but also a symbol of the indomitable spirit, the will to be self-reliant and strive to rise up of the ethnic people of Ha Giang province. The restoration and embellishment of the relic site aims to ensure the safety and quality of the construction as well as tourism activities at the relic site.
