Ms. Mai Thi Hong Hoa - Vice Chairman of District 1 People's Committee congratulated, acknowledged and honored the efforts of restaurants in District 1 when they were recognized by the Michelin guide. The meeting was for the government to listen to the restaurants' sharing, discuss and resolve difficulties, help units maintain the achieved results and promote to achieve higher titles.
According to Ms. Do Thi Anh Tuyet - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of District 1, the government has recently made efforts to create activities and events to attract tourists. At the same time, it has also supported restaurants and accommodation businesses in assessing star ratings and ensuring security and order.
Dialogue to enhance the connection and cooperation between the government and Michelin-honored businesses
"District 1 has great potential for tourism development. We hope that all types of services will be linked and coordinated with each other to shape local destinations associated with Ho Chi Minh City tourism. District 1 has a rate of more than 50% of restaurants contributing to the development of the city's culinary industry. We hope that restaurants will have connections with travel agencies to develop the brand more strongly," said Ms. Tuyet.
According to Ms. Tuyet, the government will develop a tourism guide that includes the culinary field. She hopes that restaurants will join the government in introducing the guide to tourists.
"In this guide, Michelin-recognized restaurants will be prestigious destinations. Diners trust the quality of service and food safety issues. In the future, District 1 will form a night tourism product. We hope that when forming the tour "District 1 - Night Colors", the units will spread the culinary specialties with many different types," said Ms. Tuyet.
Pho Phuong restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand restaurant list (restaurant with delicious food at affordable prices).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Lan (representative of Pho Phuong) shared that being honored by the Michelin guide is a great honor for the family. The family has tried and made efforts over the past 40 years to make Pho a favorite of many diners.
"The secret to making pho at home comes from the broth. It's a painstaking process, from selecting bones to making the broth sweet, to choosing fresh meat. In addition, keeping the space clean and green, and prioritizing hospitality, is also a priority for the restaurant," said Ms. Lan.
She appreciates the opportunity to cooperate with travel agencies so that the restaurant can continue to develop and achieve higher titles in the culinary field.
There are 8 pho restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City that won the Bib Gourmand restaurant award.
"If there is a connection with travel agencies, there will be better preparation so that more diners will know about it. I hope there will be increased promotion on all routes with many tourist destinations so that tourists know that in District 1 there are 29 businesses honored by the Michelin guide. If there is information sharing and directions to the locations, tourists will easily access the 29 establishments. One establishment does not create a wave, so establishments should work together to spread this honor," said a representative of Pho Phuong.
A representative of the restaurant Bep Me In shared: "After being honored by Michelin, the number of customers booking tables tends to increase. Therefore, ensuring food safety and hygiene and service quality will be a big challenge for the restaurant. In addition, the restaurant also has difficulties with parking space for customers. We hope that the government will support, promote at a fast pace, upgrade and improve services to meet the needs of diners."
