According to the Long An Department of Transport, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project through Long An has so far achieved about 32% progress. Overall, the province has basically completed the plan and progress milestones required by the Government in Resolution No. 105/NQ-CP dated August 15, 2022. According to records at the construction site on May 15, the working and construction atmosphere was very positive.
At the XL1 package (construction of the main route of the project), the contractor is constructing sand filling to create a flat surface and installing waterproof wicks on 3,137/3,214m of the highway. Construction of waterproof wicks is more than 381/735m, driving cajuput piles to reinforce the foundation is more than 495m, and construction of 28/28 bored piles is complete, reaching over 19% of the plan.
Package XL2, construction of Tan Buu bridge, main expressway route, parallel route left branch and parallel route from Provincial Road 830C to the intersection in the segment Km88+766 - Km90+472, won by the consortium of Tan Nam Construction Joint Stock Company - IDICO Petroleum Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - Nui Hong Joint Stock Company with a contract value of VND 902,937,045,000. The contractors have drilled 35/36 test piles and 250/271 mass piles, poured concrete for 23/34 pedestals, abutments of Tan Buu bridge and the bridge on the left parallel route, reaching nearly 30%.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuong, in charge of the XL2 package under IDICO Petroleum Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, this package currently has 10 teams urgently constructing items such as casting super-T beams, pouring concrete for latex beams, Tan Buu bridge pier body, etc.
Currently, contractors have completed 13 girders and are preparing to complete 2 more girders to start installing girders on Tan Buu Bridge at the end of May. “Tan Buu Bridge has 35 spans, each span has 8 super-T girders,” said Mr. Phuong.
Along with that, the LX3 package to build the End Intersection of the route in the Km90+472 – Km91+568 segment, was won by the joint venture of Trung Thanh Investment & Construction Co., Ltd. - Tam Son Investment Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Corporation - JSC with a contract value of 431,562,350,000 VND. Currently, 100% of bored piles and pedestals, abutments of the expressway overpass and the U-turn bridge have been completed. Sand filling of the main expressway roadbed is 180m/1,100m, sand filling of the branch roads is more than 3,361m/3,563m, reaching more than 35% of the plan.

The Department of Transport regularly urges contractors to mobilize sufficient human and material resources for construction, while closely controlling progress and quality as well as promptly resolving difficulties and obstacles of contractors to meet the set plan. Regularly coordinate with the investor of component project 8 to hand over the remaining locations that are stuck in site clearance.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project is a national key project, with a total length of nearly 76km in phase 1 passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An with a total investment of more than VND75,000 billion. The section passing through Long An is 6.84km long./.
