In order to honor the beauty of body, intelligence, soul, and talent of young women in general, and young women of Dam Ha district in particular, the "Dam Ha Charm" contest was initiated in 2019. Up to now, after 2 times of organization, the contest has gradually affirmed its brand, becoming an attractive cultural activity in Dam Ha.
The 2024 "Dam Ha Charm" contest has attracted a large number of candidates to register. In the preliminary round, candidates performed 2 contents: anthropometric and physical examination; interview on understanding, communication and behavioral skills. The candidates were very confident in expressing themselves, leaving many good impressions on the judges as well as the audience. At the end of the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected 15 excellent candidates to enter the final round which will take place on August 11.
Secretary of Dam Ha District Youth Union, Head of the Contest Content Subcommittee Nguyen Quyet Thang said: The quality of this year's contestants continues to be higher than last year in terms of qualifications, height and performance style. Right in the preliminary round, the contestants confidently showed off their beauty and talent on stage. It can be seen that the contestants' performances have affirmed that the "Dam Ha Charm" contest is an ideal playground, contributing to improving communication skills and civilized behavior for today's Dam Ha youth. This is an important factor to develop Dam Ha people comprehensively in terms of personality, intelligence, creativity, physical strength, soul, social responsibility, with the qualities of "Courage - Self-reliance - Discipline - Solidarity - Affection - Generosity - Creativity - Civilization".
One of the new features of the "Dam Ha Charm" contest in 2024 is the addition of a tourism charm contest. This is aimed at building annual cultural and tourism products, promoting and introducing the image, culture and brand of Dam Ha people to people and tourists inside and outside the district. Thereby contributing to the completion of the goals set out in Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU dated October 30, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee on building and promoting cultural values, human strength of Quang Ninh to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development. At the same time, contributing to preserving the cultural and historical heritages of the province and Dam Ha district.
With the spirit of ensuring practicality, economy, safety, and suitability to the situation and practical conditions of Dam Ha, the members of the Organizing Committee of the contest have been implementing all contents according to the plan in a systematic and scientific manner. Another new point of this year's contest is that most of the stages organized in the final night of the contest will be proactively implemented by Dam Ha district. In which, the District Cultural and Information Center, as the Head of the Contest Propaganda Subcommittee, has mobilized the maximum number of officers and employees in the unit to carry out most of the contents in the assigned tasks to save costs.
Director of the Dam Ha District Cultural and Information Center, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest Trieu Dai Nghia said: If in previous contests the district had to spend money to hire an event organization company to carry out the stages of script development, layout, and staging of the art program, then in this contest the Cultural and Information Center is responsible for implementing the above contents. Thereby, saving 800 million VND for the district compared to the previous two contests. Up to now, the work of preparing the venue, stage, sound, speakers, lighting, festive decoration and other facilities to ensure the contest is being carefully prepared. We identify this as an opportunity for the team of reporters, editors, and technicians of the District Cultural and Information Center to demonstrate their role and ability in implementing major cultural events of the district.
