Currently, Ea Kar district has 57 agricultural and service cooperatives, 22 cooperative groups, and agricultural extension clubs with a total of over 5,000 members, operating in many fields. Many cooperatives produce agricultural products, provide high-quality seedlings, livestock, and services to meet market demand.
Thanh Binh Agricultural - Service Cooperative in Village 10, Ea Sar Commune was established in 2021 with 16 members growing lychee with a total area of over 100 hectares. Previously, lychee growing households mainly relied on experience, had small areas, and found their own outlets. Since joining the cooperative, members have been instructed and practiced taking care of lychee trees according to VietGAP standards.
In addition, the commune government also coordinated with relevant departments to train and transfer garden cultivation techniques to members, organize conferences to connect production and consumption of lychees, and provide guidance on completing the application for growing area codes. Thanks to this, the cooperative has 47 hectares assigned with growing area codes, helping to increase profit value by about 100 million VND/ha compared to before.

Not only in the field of cultivation, in livestock farming, with the guidance of local authorities and functional agencies, people have also joined together to establish cooperatives for sustainable development and increased income. For example, Quyet Thang Agricultural - Service Cooperative in Ea Sar commune. Established in 2022 with 17 members, the cooperative has developed chain livestock farming, from providing high-quality crossbred cattle breeds with warranties, instructing farmers on how to care for them, consulting on barn construction, disease prevention, to output commitments. Thanks to innovations in the way of selecting breeds, caring for them, and preventing diseases, cows have grown well, shortening the time to sell them. Instead of 1 litter/year as before, after only 3-4 months, the cows have reached a weight of about 5 quintals/head, minus investment costs, there is a profit of about 2 million VND/head. On average, 3 litters can be raised each year, and farmers also have an additional source of manure to fertilize crops.
With a revenue of about 64,000 billion VND, cooperatives and cooperative groups have increasingly affirmed their important role in the socio -economic development of Ea Kar district, helping to improve income and living standards for members, contributing to the restructuring of sustainable rural agriculture, creating momentum to change the face of the countryside. Chairman of Ea Kar District People's Committee Nguyen Minh Chuyen |
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quyet, Director of Quyet Thang Agricultural - Service Cooperative, said that thanks to its legal status, the cooperative has been given favorable conditions to borrow capital and has been leased 5 hectares of land by the Commune People's Committee to build a farm, grow grass to expand the scale of livestock farming, purchase about 1,500 animals/year, supply to markets in and outside the province, create jobs for 10 local workers with an income of 6 - 10 million VND/month.
Cooperatives and cooperative groups in Ea Kar district have played an important role in transforming the structure of crops and livestock, transferring science and technology, and applying high technology to production. Currently, Ea Kar district has 4 products including lychee, Huong Chi longan, durian, and sweet potato with growing area codes with a total area of over 579.6 hectares. This is the basis for cooperatives, cooperative groups, and farmers to sign contracts with enterprises to produce and consume products, bringing Ea Kar agricultural products for export.
In addition, some cooperatives have boldly invested in machinery and equipment, applying scientific and technological advances in production. For example: the cocoa powder drying and processing system of Minh Tan Dat Cooperative, Thanh Dat Agricultural Service and Trade Cooperative; the factory area, cocoa bean drying machine of the Agricultural Cooperative purchasing, processing and consuming cocoa in Ea Kar district.

Thanks to that, a number of links have been formed in production and consumption of products between a number of agricultural cooperatives and enterprises, between cooperatives and households such as: Agricultural Cooperative 714 signed a contract with Thong Do Company in Lam Dong province to consume passion fruit products; Cu Ni Agricultural Service Cooperative linked with households to produce and consume beef cattle and breeding cattle through linkage contracts; Minh Tan Dat Cooperative, Thanh Dat Agricultural Service and Trade Cooperative, Ea Kar District Agricultural Cooperative for purchasing, processing and consuming cocoa signed cooperation agreements with Ben Thanh Company, Nam Truong Son Company and large cocoa export corporations such as Puratos, Cargill... Thereby improving the efficiency of production and business and income of member households, affirming the role of cooperative economy in agricultural production.
