EVN temporarily suspends Director of National Power System Control Center

On June 14, EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan signed Decision No. 603/QD-EVN on the temporary suspension of the position of the EVN electricity officer. Accordingly, the position of Director of the National Power System Dispatch Center was temporarily suspended to serve the specialized inspection work in the management and operation of electricity supply.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh was appointed as Director of the National Power System Dispatch Center in February 2020. Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh was born in 1976 in Tu Son district, Bac Ninh province. Before being appointed as Director of the National Power System Dispatch Center, he had more than 20 years of working experience at this unit in the positions of engineer, Deputy Head of Department, Head of Method Department and Deputy Director of EVNNLDC.

Previously, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien directed the inspection of EVN's electricity supply from June 10 and had a direct working session with the inspection team right before the inspection was carried out.

The working session took place on June 9, after the Prime Minister assigned the Minister to direct the establishment of a specialized inspection team in accordance with the law on electricity management and supply of EVN Group from January 1, 2021 to June 1, 2023.

The specialized inspection team was established on June 8, including leaders of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority, the Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment, the Legal Department, the Ministry Inspectorate, the Department of Planning and Finance, and the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal.

"It is necessary to clarify the supply and proactive provision of fuel for power plants; operate the power system; mobilize power sources (technically), fairness; power transmission issues; and mobilize transitional renewable energy sources," the Minister requested.

Last week, the EVN Board of Members also issued a Resolution, assigning General Director Tran Dinh Nhan to be responsible for the content of the report, providing records and documents as requested by the Ministry's inspection team.
