With more than 10,000 workers of the unit and subcontractors working, labor safety management and environmental protection are always considered by Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS) as a key task to ensure the production process takes place continuously.

As a worker at the Hot Rolling Mill - Formosa Ha Tinh Company, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thai has to operate the hot rolled steel coil production line every day. Although the production line with complex machinery and equipment always has the potential for occupational accidents, for many years the Hot Rolling Mill has ensured safety in production.

Mr. Thai said: “My colleagues and I are regularly trained in the use and operation of machinery and equipment. At the same time, during the working process, everyone strictly follows the regulations on occupational safety and hygiene (OSH). In addition, in addition to regularly checking and supervising the implementation of regulations, the company also coordinates with related units to organize fire prevention and fighting drills, rescue victims... therefore, the production process is always safe.”

Currently, there are more than 10,000 workers working at Formosa Ha Tinh.

To ensure the safety of the company and its contractors, Formosa Ha Tinh always focuses on self-inspection of labor safety for employees. Accordingly, all factories and affiliated units conduct daily and weekly safety inspections and correct any detected abnormalities to ensure that all potential risks are identified and handled promptly, eliminating unsafe working environments. For units that do not have incidents, the company also awards cash rewards to encourage employees to continue to maintain their achievements.

Every year, the Company's Safety Environment Center and Director's Office have also conducted over 20 specialized inspections on labor safety on average, to ensure that important safety tasks are carried out seriously, and that abnormalities are detected and resolved promptly, thereby minimizing risks at the site.
