At 8:00 p.m. on May 22, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa (Lam Trung Thuy Commune, Duc Tho) encountered a loris in her garden. After identifying this as a rare wild animal that needed protection, Ms. Phuong Hoa contacted the local authorities and the Duc Tho District Forest Protection Department to hand it over to the authorities for reception and care.

Authorities identified this as a pygmy loris ( scientific name Nycticebus pygmaeus), female, weighing about 0.2 kg. It was in normal health, agile and uninjured.
After receiving the loris, Vu Quang National Park will continue to care for and ensure its health before releasing it back into the natural environment.
