Forsberg Racing partnered with Nissan to create the Nissan Z NISMO GT-Z, a track-focused NISMO-based car. The car is equipped with a portfolio of performance parts from NISMO and suppliers such as Z1, AMS, Recaro, APR Performance, and is ready for SEMA and scheduled to compete at the Gridlife Grand Touring in 2026.
From Nissan Z NISMO to GT-Z: the continuation of a relationship
Forsberg Racing has made its mark in drifting, expanding into eSports and other series. The team, led by driver and workshop manager Chris Forsberg, has a history of working with Nissan; the NISMO GT-Z is the latest creation, evolving from the standard Nissan Z NISMO with the philosophy of “use the right parts, tune it right.”
NISMO chassis: fully tuned for the track
The work begins with the suspension and substructure. Up front, the car gets adjustable upper arms, shock tower braces, and external tie rods. The rear axle gets adjustable camber, toe, and caster. Both front and rear use NISMO performance stabilizer bars, coilovers, and upgraded subframe mounts.

Wheelset: NISMO prototype rims, large Advan A052 tires
The GT-Z rides on 18 x 10.5-inch NISMO LM-RS1 prototype wheels, shod with Yokohama Advan A052 tires: 295/35 at the front and 315/30 at the rear. NISMO valve covers and forged rivets complete the wheel setup.
Engine and intake: Z1 category centric
The engine bay takes full advantage of Z1 Performance solutions: a cold air intake, twin VRX70B turbos and an air-to-air intercooler. Z1 also offers a large-capacity differential cover with a heatsink, a remote differential cooler, a catch can and a billet-machined oil sandwich base compatible with the Concept Z oil cooler.
Fuel, exhaust and brakes: synchronized upgrade
AMS contributed the high-pressure fuel pump and high-flow injectors. The exhaust system is a joint effort: Z1 supplied the stainless steel downpipe, NISMO handled the cat-back exhaust. The competition brakes and cooling air ducts come from Z1.

Cockpit and aerodynamics: driver-focused
Inside, NISMO supplied the seatbelts; Recaro fitted the carbon-fiber bucket seats; Paragon provided the driver's cooling suit. Outside, the black-red-white NISMO/Forsberg Racing badges are neat and functional. APR Performance contributed the GT-250 swan-neck spoiler, front splitter, and small front spoiler.
SEMA Today, Gridlife Grand Touring 2026 Tomorrow
The SEMA show car is also a track-ready car, with plans to compete in the 2026 Gridlife Grand Touring. Visitors to the SEMA booth can get a taste of the GT-Z through the Podium 1 custom racing simulator, race seats, and immersive simulation configuration.

Conclusion: “best catalog, standard setup” philosophy
The Forsberg Racing NISMO GT-Z doesn’t go for show, instead focusing on targeted componentry and Forsberg Racing’s proven tuning expertise. With the Nissan Z NISMO platform, a portfolio of upgrades from NISMO and key partners, the car has a clear direction: to perform convincingly at SEMA and be ready to enter the Gridlife Grand Touring competition environment from 2026.
