Nearly 2,000 candidates compete in the World Office Informatics Championship - Viettel 2025

Nearly 2,000 excellent candidates were selected from 230 teams nationwide to compete in the National Qualifying Round of the World Office Informatics Championship - Viettel 2025.

On the morning of April 20, in Hanoi, the Central Youth Union, IIG Vietnam Education Organization and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group jointly organized the opening ceremony of the World Office Informatics Championship - Viettel 2025.

After more than 3 months of launching, the contest attracted nearly 2,000 excellent candidates selected from 230 teams from universities, colleges, secondary schools, and high schools across the country. In addition to the school teams that have traditionally participated in the contest before, this year welcomed additional teams from the provinces: Dak Lak , Tay Ninh... participating for the first time.

Ms. Doan Nguyen Van Khanh, CEO of IIG Vietnam Education Organization, co-organizer of the national level, said: "The new highlight of this year's season is the inclusion of artificial intelligence (AI) in the exam, helping to assess the multi-dimensional understanding of candidates about new digital technology trends and their skills in applying AI to process requests in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. This innovation aims to keep up with the global digital transformation trend, while also giving candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to apply new technology to solve requirements in their studies, life, and future careers."

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized: “The 2025 Viettel World Office Informatics Competition is one of the specific activities to realize the goal of improving digital capacity for Vietnamese youth and children, concretizing the action program to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TU dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo. The competition not only creates an environment for young people to study, practice, improve their technology skills and digital knowledge, equip them for the process of establishing their careers, but also arouses the desire to contribute, building a young generation with courage and confidence to integrate internationally.”

After the National Rounds, the Organizing Committee will find the 6 best young IT talents nationwide to be awarded the title of MOS Vietnam Ambassador and to compete in the World Finals taking place at the end of July 2025 in Orlando, Florida, USA.

The National Organizing Committee will award 6 First prizes, 18 Second prizes, 30 Third prizes, 72 Encouragement prizes and 1 Promising prize (for the youngest contestant participating in the National Finals) corresponding to 6 competition contents along with many attractive prizes for groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the competition.

The Organizing Committee will also award Regional prizes to contestants in localities where information technology learning conditions are still limited and who have made great efforts to achieve high results in the competition.

The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) was officially launched in Vietnam in 2010. After 15 years of implementing the competition, the total achievements of the Vietnamese Team at the World Finals include: 4 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, 13 Bronze Medals and many positions in the world's top 10.
