Nearly 300 athletes participate in the 1st Gia Lai Province Youth Kickboxing Championship

VHO - The 1st Gia Lai Province Youth Kickboxing Championship in 2025 attracted nearly 300 martial artists, coaches, and athletes from 47 martial arts schools/athlete clubs to participate.

On the evening of August 14, the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Youth Kickboxing Championship 2025 took place at the Provincial Sports Stadium.

The tournament attracted 47 martial arts schools/clubs to participate.

Although it was the first time the tournament was held, it attracted the participation of nearly 300 martial artists, coaches, and athletes from 47 martial arts schools/clubs, competing for 25 sets of medals in two age groups of 13-14 and 15-17.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Youth Kickboxing Championship in 2025 is a meaningful sporting event, not only contributing to promoting the local Kickboxing training movement but also meeting the needs of enjoying cultural and sporting activities of local people and tourists.

The tournament is an opportunity for the locality to orient and build a team of professional coaches and athletes to participate in national, regional and international competitions.

In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bui Trung Hieu - Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament emphasized that, promoting the tradition of local martial arts, the provincial sports sector has invested in building a training roadmap for professional Kickboxing fighters.

Athletes compete in the qualifying round

Thereby, many results have been achieved for the province's high-performance sports as well as contributing to the overall achievements of Vietnamese Kickboxing in the international arena.

The tournament aims to promote the Kickboxing training movement in localities and is also an opportunity to test and evaluate the quality of the movement and the professional level of athletes in order to orient and build a team of coaches and athletes with expertise and depth in the province's Kickboxing to participate in national, regional and international competitions.

Deputy Director of the Department Bui Trung Hieu informed that the first step is the National Youth Kickboxing Championship hosted at home from August 22 to August 31, the day after this tournament ends.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the qualifying matches of the tournament took place in an exciting and dramatic manner. According to the plan, the tournament will end on August 21.
