Vietnam women's team gathers to prepare for the gold medal at SEA Games 33

As part of the preparation plan for the 33rd SEA Games taking place in December 2025, the Vietnamese women's team arrived in Phu Tho to gather and enter an important training phase before the training trip to Japan.

According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will practice at Viet Tri Stadium until November 20, then go to Japan to play friendly matches with strong opponents, to evaluate the team's performance and perfect the tactical framework.

This training session is considered an important step for the coaching staff to review the team, test the personnel and build the optimal playing style, aiming to defend the SEA Games gold medal. VFF said that sending the team to Japan is a great effort to create the best conditions for the Vietnamese women's team to maintain their competitive level.

On the first day of the meeting, Coach Mai Duc Chung immediately started training sessions to maintain the rhythm of movement and distribute the appropriate volume. Two players Vu Thi Hoa ( Hanoi Sports Training Center) and Duong Thi Van (Vietnam Coal and Minerals) continued to practice lightly according to their own training plan to recover, while the remaining players showed a comfortable spirit, guaranteed physical strength and high concentration. The cool weather in Viet Tri is considered ideal, helping the training sessions take place smoothly and achieve high efficiency.

In tactical training sessions, the coaching staff focuses more on team coordination, improving transition speed, and perfecting attack and defense. This is also an important opportunity for young players and rookies to quickly integrate into the general playing style, creating healthy competition for each position on the field.

According to the preliminary plan of the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee in Thailand, the women's football event will take place from December 10 to 19, 2025 in Chonburi province. It is expected that there will be 6 teams participating, divided into 2 groups, each group has 3 teams. Due to the excellent performance at the recent SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team is almost certainly placed in the number 1 seed group.

In particular, the Vietnamese women's team will likely face familiar opponents such as Myanmar, the Philippines or host Thailand, direct competitors for the gold medal.

With careful preparation, determination and a squad of experienced and young players, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are aiming for the highest goal of winning the SEA Games gold medal for the 5th consecutive time.
