Organizing the 2025 Japanese Film Festival in Vietnam

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Decision No. 4345/QD - BVHTTDL on organizing the 2025 Japanese Film Festival in Vietnam.

Pursuant to Circular No. 17/2022/TT-BVHTTDL dated December 27, 2022 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism stipulating document templates in cinema activities; Considering the proposal of the Director of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam in the Application dated November 6, 2025; At the request of the Director of the Department of Cinema... The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a Decision to organize the 2025 Japanese Film Festival in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism allows the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam to coordinate with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Hai Phong to organize the 2025 Japanese Film Festival in Vietnam.

It is expected that the 2025 Japanese Film Festival in Vietnam will take place from December 12, 2025 - January 25, 2026 in Hanoi , Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.

Films scheduled to be screened at the Festival include: Seven Samurai; Love Letter; Rage Squad: Civil Servant and Seven Swindlers; When Cells Work; Six Lying College Students.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires that films are only allowed to be shown within the program when they have a Film Classification License.

The Chief of the Ministry Office, Director of the Department of Cinema, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Director of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision./
