At the meeting, delegates watched a video about the activities of Lai Chau Newspaper in the past time; reviewed the history and significance of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Accordingly, on June 21, 1925, the mouthpiece of the organization "Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association" - Thanh Nien Newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc published its first issue, this is the first revolutionary newspaper of our country. Since the establishment of "Thanh Nien" Newspaper, the Vietnamese press has raised the revolutionary flag, expressed the will and aspirations of the Vietnamese people and pointed out the direction of the Vietnamese people's struggle for independence, freedom and socialism.
On June 21, 1925, in Guangzhou province (China), the Thanh Nien newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc published its first issue. The history of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day also began from here, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press was officially formed.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Viet Manh - Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper expressed his deep gratitude to the former leaders of Lai Chau Newspaper, generations of cadres, reporters, editors, technicians... who worked at Lai Chau Newspaper through the periods, those who have contributed to building, nurturing and preserving the glorious tradition of the provincial Party newspaper. He emphasized that the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) is a golden milestone of the revolutionary press founded by President Ho Chi Minh . This is a special occasion to review the glorious journey that the revolutionary press has gone through. A century of accompanying the destiny of the nation, contributing to promoting patriotism, truthfully reflecting social life, accompanying the Party, State and people in the cause of fighting and building the country. In that flow, Lai Chau Newspaper, from the first internal news paper to a modern, multimedia press agency, has always maintained its role as the voice of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province.

2025 is a special year not only because of historical milestones, but also because of the strategic transformation of Lai Chau press. Implementing the major policy of the Central and Provincial Party Committee, Lai Chau Newspaper will merge with the Provincial Radio and Television Station to form Lai Chau Newspaper. This is not only a change in organization, but also a comprehensive transformation in thinking, working methods, operating models and orientation of press development in the digital age and multimedia communication.

Comrade Bui Anh Chien - Deputy Head of Reporter Department shared memories during his time working as a journalist.
He affirmed that the journey ahead is not without difficulties, when having to adapt to the new organizational model, especially promoting comprehensive digital transformation. However, with the spirit of openness, creativity, and solidarity, he believes that the Provincial Newspaper and Radio - Television Station will perform well their functions and tasks as "the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, government and people of the province. That is also the way we realize Uncle Ho's advice to revolutionary journalists: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons...".

Comrade Vu Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief, President of Lai Chau Newspaper Trade Union presented gifts to athletes who achieved achievements in the sports tournament.
Also at the meeting, former leaders of Lai Chau Newspaper and leaders of the Editorial Department, reporters spoke, expressed their feelings, and shared their experiences in the process of leadership, editing, and working at the grassroots level.
On this occasion, Lai Chau Newspaper presented gifts to retired former leaders of Lai Chau Newspaper and to athletes who achieved achievements in sports competitions.
