Meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the heroic BB1 Battalion "R20" Quang Da

On May 17, the Liaison Committee of the Veterans Association of Battalion 1 "R20" - Front 44 Quang Da coordinated with the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Dai Thang commune (Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province) to organize a ceremony to pay tribute to the cadres and soldiers of Battalion R20 and the people, cadres, and guerrillas who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against the US to save the country in general and the decisive battle at Ong No bridge 58 years ago in particular.

On the same day, the Liaison Committee of the Veterans Association of Battalion 1 “R20” - Front 44 Quang Da organized a meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the heroic Battalion 1 “R20” Quang Da (May 19, 1965 - May 19, 2025). The veterans reviewed the history of the establishment, construction and development of Battalion 1 “R20”; the heroic revolutionary tradition of generations of cadres and soldiers through the periods.

Born in the midst of the war, the BB1 ​​Battalion “R20” received direct support from the people and soldiers of the two communes of Loc Quy (Dai Thang), Loc Phuoc (Dai Cuong) and the people of Quang Da province. The battalion fought steadfastly and achieved resounding victories such as Van Quat, Ong No bridge, Kiem Ben, Go Noi, Xuan Diem, Bau Mung, Non Nuoc, Vinh Dien, Nam Phuoc...

The Battalion was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State in 1973. On this occasion, the Liaison Committee of the Veterans Association of Battalion 1 "R20" and other units presented nearly 20 gifts to policy families in Dai Thang commune.
