Meeting with female managers on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union

On October 17, the Son La Provincial Women's Union organized a meeting with female leaders to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025), and the 15th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20, 2010 - October 20, 2025). Attending the meeting were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; former leaders of the Provincial Women's Union of all periods; and key female leaders of departments, branches and sectors.

After 95 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Women's Union has always been a common home and a reliable support for women of all walks of life. The Union has constantly innovated its content and methods of operation, arousing and promoting the potential and creativity of women in the cause of industrialization, modernization and development of the country.

Sharing the emulation spirit of women across the country, women in Son La province constantly promote the tradition of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, overcoming difficulties, making important contributions to the development of the province.

The province currently has 75 grassroots organizations, more than 2,200 branches and more than 210,000 members. In the political field, the contingent of female cadres is increasingly mature. The proportion of women participating in Party committees, People's Councils, Fatherland Front Committees and mass organizations has reached and exceeded the set target. Many women hold important positions, promote their leadership and management roles, and are trusted by the people and colleagues. At the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, the province has 10 female cadres in the Executive Committee and 3 female cadres in the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

The movement of women in economic development, entrepreneurship, business start-up, and cooperative development is increasingly widespread; many economic models of women in ethnic minority areas have brought about efficiency, created jobs, increased income, contributed to sustainable poverty reduction and built advanced, exemplary new rural areas. From 2019 to now, 161 ideas have been supported by the Provincial Women's Union to materialize; 31 cooperative groups and 18 cooperatives managed by women have been established with support from the Union; 844 women members have been supported to start businesses and start businesses.

Humanitarian movements, charity, environmental protection, new rural construction, prevention of social evils, response to natural disasters and climate change have a strong imprint of women and the association at all levels.

Entering a new phase, the Provincial Women's Union continues to effectively promote its role as a political organization representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of female members. Directing all levels of the union to implement policies, mechanisms, and strategies on women's work and gender equality; promoting union work and women's movements to create conditions for women to develop comprehensively. Propagating and mobilizing cadres, union members, and ethnic women in the province to continue to unite, promote intelligence and creativity, constantly study, practice, and contribute, contributing to building Son La province to become increasingly prosperous, civilized, and happy.
