Urgently select investors for 2 projects of Long Thanh Airport Project

(DN) - On August 18, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha chaired a meeting with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and provincial departments and branches to listen to reports on the progress of projects under Component 4 of the Long Thanh International Airport Project, assigned by the Prime Minister to Dong Nai province to select investors.

According to the Department of Construction, Dong Nai province was assigned by the Prime Minister to organize the selection of investors for the following projects: Fuel pipeline system for aircraft from the upstream port to Long Thanh Airport; airport city; aviation industrial park and airline operations center.

For the Project of the Aircraft Fuel Pipeline System from the upstream port to Long Thanh Airport, according to the local adjustment plan of Long Thanh Airport approved by the Ministry of Construction , Dong Nai province was assigned to select investors to build 2 parallel pipelines longer than 23km, including 5.8km within the boundary of Long Thanh Airport.

In order to soon complete the selection of investors, aiming at the basic goal of completing the project on December 19, 2025 along with the Long Thanh Airport Project, the Provincial People's Committee has sent an official dispatch to the Government and ministries for consideration and approval in principle for the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to apply the form of selecting investors in special cases for this project.

In order to facilitate the implementation and appraisal of the design of the 5.8km long pipeline within the airport boundary and avoid conflicts with other underground technical infrastructure systems, Dong Nai province requests the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to provide the province with technical infrastructure design drawings related to the scope of the underground pipeline within the airport boundary.

For the projects of airport city; aviation industrial park; airline operation center, the Department of Construction recommends that the Provincial People's Committee issue a written report to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Construction to provide documents and drawings clearly defining the location, scale, function, and investment time of the items assigned to Dong Nai province to carry out the work of organizing the selection of investors according to regulations.

At the meeting, representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam agreed with the Provincial People's Committee to select investors in special cases for the Project of the Aircraft Fuel Pipeline System from the upstream port to Long Thanh Airport. At the same time, they will closely coordinate with Dong Nai province and ACV to implement the remaining projects.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha assigned the Department of Construction to urgently complete the procedures and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for opinions on selecting investors for the projects of fuel pipeline systems for aircraft from the source port to Long Thanh Airport and the airline's operations center. Because these are essential projects, they need to be completed in sync with the Long Thanh Airport Project.

Along with that, the Department of Construction coordinates with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and ACV to implement procedures for selecting investors for airport city and aviation industrial park projects.
