According to Dr. Hoang, earlier, on the morning of May 4, Mr. D.VT (43 years old, residing in Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province) was brought to the hospital by his family in a state of having his entire penis and testicles severed at the base, with a lot of blood loss. The severed penis was kept in ice and brought along.

Immediately after receiving the patient, the medical team performed surgery to reattach the penis and severed blood vessels. After nearly 2 hours, the penis reattachment surgery was successful, and the patient's condition improved.
“The surgery was difficult because the penis and testicles were cut close to the base without an anastomosis, the cut was jagged and bruised. In addition, after the surgery, the patient was uncooperative, so the post-operative treatment was quite difficult,” Dr. Hoang added.
According to family, the patient cut off his own penis.
