Previously, this record belonged to Pierre Kalala of the Democratic Republic of Congo – scoring in the 1968 Africa Cup of Nations final, against Ghana at the age of 37.
In the 2025 Nations League, Ronaldo scored 8 goals in 9 matches, including 2 decisive goals in the semi-finals and final for Portugal.
