Healthy Family - No Smoking

In the form of dramatization, the teams went through 2 parts, including: The opening part, briefly introducing the participating members, the outstanding features of the locality; the content part conveyed messages related to the meaning and methods to build a "Healthy Family - No Smoking", the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws on preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco; regulations of the Law on Prevention of Tobacco Harm; especially new tobacco products (electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco, shisha).

Ms. GIANG THI MO - President of the Women's Union of Chieng Den Commune, Son La City, Son La : The new menu skit is based on real stories that are currently happening in the families of women's union members. The message to convey is that for society, each family should not use tobacco at home, in society, in hospitals, schools, etc.

The contest also featured male actors who were also daily smokers. Through their roles on stage, the actors became aware of the harmful effects of smoking in real life.

Mr. TRAN VAN HUNG - Quyet Thang Ward, Son La City, Son La : I have been smoking since the 80s, probably for forty years. I promised the contest that I was determined to quit smoking, also to set an example for the next generation. If any of my children and grandchildren follow me, they should follow their father and grandfather to quit smoking.

Each team approached the harmful effects of tobacco from different aspects, presenting the serious harmful effects of tobacco on health, the environment and the economy . The performances all spread and conveyed meaningful messages related to the content of preventing the harmful effects of tobacco and building a healthy - smoke-free family.

Ms. NGUYEN THI THANH THUY - Deputy Head of Family and Society Department, Vietnam Women's Union : With the skits in Son La as well as other provinces and cities, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union will not only once, but the media skits here that we have recorded will be edited into media products so that we can convey all these messages to the community nationwide, especially women and children.

Through the contest, it has motivated and encouraged cadres, members and women to learn and raise their awareness of the law; increased the participation of all levels of the association, responded and committed to taking action for the health of themselves, their families and the community. At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the team of Chieng Le ward, Son La city, along with 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 4 consolation prizes to the winning teams.
