Tuyen Quang continues to prevent the risk of African swine fever re-emergence
The Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries of Tuyen Quang province said that African swine fever in the area has been gradually controlled, but the risk of recurrence remains high. Areas with large herds, outbreaks, or potential risks in livestock farming conditions continue to be identified as hot spots that need special monitoring.
According to Mr. Le Hai Nam, Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries of Tuyen Quang province, the industry is closely coordinating with communes and wards to deploy 64 inspection teams and support teams in areas with complicated epidemic developments. In places where the epidemic has been declared, local authorities have established Steering Committees and mobile teams, inspection teams, and statistical teams, and at the same time, destroyed infected pigs in accordance with current regulations.
For communes and villages that have not recorded any cases or have gone 21 days without a new outbreak, the professional force is required to maintain continuous monitoring; carry out regular cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of barns. Farmers who have suffered losses are advised not to re-herd early to minimize the risk of the disease returning, ensure the safety of the herd and stabilize production.
