Right after the iPhone 17 officially hit the shelves, the price of the iPhone 16 entered its sharpest decline ever.
Major retail systems such as Hoang Ha Mobile, CellphoneS, TopZone and Viettel Store simultaneously reduced prices, attracting consumers back to the market.
The standard 128GB iPhone 16 version is now only about 20.9 - 21.3 million VND, a decrease of more than 2 million VND compared to when it was launched.
The 256GB and 512GB versions also decreased accordingly, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max dropped by 13 - 15%, currently fluctuating around 29.6 - 30.5 million VND.
Many systems also apply 0% installment incentives, additional discounts when paying via e-wallet or trade-in, helping the actual price of iPhone 16 to decrease by another 500,000 - 1.5 million VND.
According to the business community, the price of the iPhone 16 has decreased much faster this year than in previous cycles. The main reason is that the iPhone 17 was launched at a very high price, causing consumers to switch to the previous generation with a more affordable price but not much less performance.
Many customers using iPhone 13 or 14 choose to upgrade to iPhone 16 because the price difference compared to iPhone 17 is up to 6 - 8 million VND, while the A18 Bionic chip still responds well to heavy tasks such as filming or playing games.
The shift in trend to “choose smart over latest” is making the price of the iPhone 16 more attractive than ever.
The drop in iPhone 16 prices has had a ripple effect across the entire Apple product line. Older models like the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 have also dropped sharply to maintain a reasonable gap between generations.
Currently, the iPhone 15 (128GB) is selling for around 16.7 - 17.3 million VND, while the iPhone 14 is only 12.4 - 12.5 million VND, the lowest price since the beginning of the year. Retailers are competing fiercely, adjusting every hundred thousand VND to attract customers, making the year-end phone market a rare excitement.
The plunge in iPhone 16 prices has therefore become the focus, both boosting sales and directly benefiting consumers.
According to experts, the decline in iPhone 16 prices may last until the end of December 2025 before stabilizing in the first quarter of 2026. As supply gradually narrows and Apple stops producing some older versions, iPhone 16 prices may slightly increase again.
However, at the present time, the iPhone 16 is still the most valuable choice in the high-end segment, with both strong performance and an accessible price.
With increasingly fierce competition among retail systems, this historic discount not only makes the price of iPhone 16 more attractive but also opens the most exciting shopping period of the year for Vietnamese consumers.
