By July 25, Gia Lai province had basically completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province, by July 25, Gia Lai province had basically completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister.
In 2025, the entire Gia Lai province was assigned the target of eliminating 12,520 temporary and dilapidated households. Of these, 9,106 households were newly built and 3,414 households were repaired.
Particularly, the group of beneficiaries and relatives of martyrs is 2,451 households, including 1,022 households with newly built houses and 1,429 households with repaired houses. Completing 100% of this number is considered an important milestone, contributing to the good implementation of the policy of gratitude, taking care of the material and spiritual life of beneficiaries in the province.
In addition, the province has also supported housing improvement for 10,069 poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty households, including 8,084 newly built houses and 1,985 repaired houses. Of these, 1,430 households benefited from two National Target Programs, including 1,352 newly built houses and 78 repaired houses.
To date, the total number of houses completed and supported in the province is 12,506 households, reaching 99.9% of the plan. Of which, 100% of houses for meritorious people have been completed, 10,055 poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty households have new houses or have been permanently repaired.
The remaining 14 households in Bau Can commune (including 10 poor households and 4 near-poor households) are currently under construction due to unfavorable weather conditions. This area is entering the rainy season and is affected by storm No. 3, so the construction process is facing many obstacles. However, the local government has sent forces to support the construction of tarpaulins, help transport materials and organize urgent construction to ensure the completion of all targets as soon as possible.
Before the merger, Binh Dinh province (old) had completed the plan to support 4,411 households (2,531 newly built houses, 1,880 repaired houses), reaching the target 7 months ahead of schedule. Notably, the group of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs who received support accounted for more than 50% (2,224 households).
In late July, the entire political system, including the police, military, and youth forces, were strongly mobilized to help the program reach its final destination on time. The provincial police force organized dozens of working groups to support the transportation of materials and the construction of houses in disadvantaged areas. Military units such as the 3rd Corps and the 15th Corps also contributed more than 39,000 working days, directly helping to build hundreds of houses in remote areas, where there was a shortage of both human resources and construction conditions.
In recent days, nearly 200 officers and soldiers of Gia Lai Police Department, divided into 43 teams, have actively supported working days for 148 families who are having difficulty in completing house construction in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
The completion of the housing support program for people with revolutionary contributions, poor households and vulnerable groups not only contributes to improving living conditions and ensuring social security, but also creates an important foundation for Gia Lai province to effectively implement the goals of sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction and comprehensive socio-economic development.
