Gia Lai - Deputy Commander of the Commune Military Command, along with local people, saved a drowning child.

At around 3:00 p.m. on January 31, 2024, a group of 9th grade students (about 8 students) studying at Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School (Ia Drang Commune, Chu Prong District, Gia Lai Province) went swimming at Lang Sung O Boong Nga Waterfall (Ia O Commune, Chu Prong District, Gia Lai Province); while swimming, 2 students, TTQ (Tran Tien Quy) and NTV (Nguyen Tuan Vu), both born in 2009, residing in An Hoa Village (Ia Drang Commune, Chu Prong District, Gia Lai Province) drowned.

At that time, comrade Le Van Linh, Deputy Commander of the Ia Boong Commune Military Command, was sent by the Commune Military Command to contact the Ia O Commune Military Command. Upon hearing the news of someone drowning, comrade Linh, along with the Ia O Commune Military Command, the Commune Police and local people, rushed to the scene of the incident. Seeing two children drowning at the foot of the waterfall, comrade Linh and a local resident (named Nguyen) jumped in, swam out and saved TTQ; NTV drowned and sank. Afterwards, comrade Linh and the other forces continued to search, and at 4:00 p.m. the same day, they found and recovered NTV's body.

Realizing that comrade Le Van Linh - Deputy Commander of the Ia Boong Commune Military Command had a brave action, which needed to be commended, set as an example, and widely spread for officers and soldiers of the provincial military in general and the Chu Prong district military in particular to learn from, contributing to beautifying the tradition of the provincial military, the district military command unexpectedly commended comrade Le Van Linh; at the same time, reported and proposed the provincial military command to consider and promptly commend.
