Gia Phu announced that the commune will meet advanced new rural standards in 2023.

On the morning of May 26, the Party Committee and people of Gia Phu commune (Gia Vien) held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition for the title "Commune meeting advanced New Rural Area (NTM) standards in 2023".

Based on the foundation and experience of the new rural construction movement in the period before 2015-2020, when implementing the construction of advanced new rural communes, the Commune Steering Committee, villages and people were excited and highly unanimous, actively and voluntarily participating. In particular, people increasingly saw their responsibilities, were excited and voluntarily contributed money and working days to participate in the construction, especially the construction of model new rural villages. The total mobilized resources for the construction of advanced new rural communes of Gia Phu commune reached over 367 billion VND, of which people participated in nearly 232 billion VND, accounting for 63% of the resources.

After 3 years of implementing the construction of advanced new-style rural areas, the face of Gia Phu's countryside has changed significantly. The economy has grown quite well, with an average income of 68.7 million VND/person/year in 2023; agriculture, aquaculture, small-scale industry, trade, and services have shifted in a positive direction, contributing to increasing income and improving the quality of life for the people.

The socio-economic infrastructure (electricity, roads, schools, stations) has been planned, upgraded, and newly built relatively synchronously. The traffic system of commune and village roads has been invested and expanded. Specifically, the whole commune has 66 roads with a length of nearly 25.4 km that have been concreted, some have been asphalted; there are 22 commune roads with a length of 16.7 km with lighting systems for planting trees and flowers to ensure green - clean - beautiful...

With the high determination of the Party Committee, the government and the consensus of cadres, party members and people, by December 2023, Gia Phu commune had completed 19/19 criteria for advanced new-style rural communes according to regulations, with 3/7 villages and hamlets recognized as model new-style rural residential areas.

At the ceremony, the leaders of Gia Vien district awarded the Certificate of recognition of the commune meeting advanced NTM standards to the Party Committee and people of Gia Phu commune.

On this occasion, many collectives and individuals in Gia Phu commune were commended by all levels and sectors for their outstanding achievements in the local new rural construction movement.
