According to the Bangkok Post, the Department of Internal Trade of Thailand (DIT) is implementing many programs to promote domestic fruit consumption, including durian. The upcoming highlight is the Fruit Festival from June 19-22 at Siam Square, with an all-you-can-eat durian party event to attract young people and international visitors.

In addition, DIT cooperated with Gourmet Market, Siam Paragon, Big C, Central and other retail chains to organize a promotional campaign from June 4 to August 27. Some gas stations also gave away free fruit to customers.

Major organizations such as the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries and the Thai Bankers Association are also purchasing fruits as gifts in their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs to support farmers.

Currently, about 78% of the durian production from eastern Thailand has reached the market. Thanks to the relaxation of residue testing in China, the export price of durian is improving. Specifically, AB durian is priced at 130 baht/kg, C grade is 93 baht/kg and D grade is 79 baht/kg.

In addition, about 50% of mangosteen production has been harvested with prices ranging from 30 to 89 baht/kg. Rambutan has reached 50% of production, with export prices of 38 baht/kg and domestic prices of 27 baht/kg. Mangoes are also in season with abundant output.

DIT is actively collaborating with logistics units such as Thailand Post to support online and offline consumption, helping consumers easily access fresh fruits during the peak season.
