According to experts, pepper prices may increase slightly in the short term thanks to stable export demand and reduced output due to prolonged drought in the Central Highlands and Southeast. At the same time, signals from international markets are also opening up new opportunities for this industry.
Currently, global pepper production, especially in major producing countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia and India, is falling sharply due to disease, adverse weather and crop conversion. This supply shortage has pushed pepper prices up.
Global demand for pepper remains high, especially from major markets such as the US, EU and China. However, the imposition of new tariffs by the US is causing many concerns for the pepper industry.
Farmers and exporters are currently tending to hold onto their goods and not sell them in large quantities, leading to limited circulation and prices continuing to remain high.

According to a report from Ptexim, demand in key markets such as Europe and Asia is gradually recovering, especially the US and China.
In the US market, many long-term orders for the third and fourth quarters of 2025 have been booked, reflecting confidence in the prospect of continued price increases and concerns about supply shortages. However, most Vietnamese exporters remain cautious and are not in a hurry to sign long-term contracts to anticipate the price increase trend in 2025 - 2026.
Experts recommend that farmers should closely monitor weather developments and market prices to decide on the right time to sell, avoiding dumping when prices are low.

Exporting enterprises need to develop flexible export plans, take advantage of opportunities from international market demand, and prepare plans to respond to price fluctuations and tariff policies. In addition, investors should consider investing in pepper futures contracts, but need to pay attention to risks from price fluctuations and weather factors.
