Pepper prices in the world today are flat. According to Chinese Customs data, in September 2025, the country's official pepper imports reached 359 tons, worth 2.6 million USD - a sharp decrease of 51.2% in volume and 53.7% in value compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the decreases were 45.2% and 61.4% respectively. In the first 9 months of the year, China imported 6,749 tons of pepper, worth 46 million USD, down 17.1% in volume but up 13% in value over the same period.
Indonesia remains the largest supplier, but imports only reached 3,224 tonnes, down 30.2%, causing its market share to fall from 56.7% to 47.8%. In contrast, Vietnam – the second largest supplier – recorded pepper exports to China reaching 2,852 tonnes, up 13.2%, helping its market share increase sharply to 42.3%. Pepper price today 11/12/2025 in the country and the world latest
Vietnam's average pepper export price to China reached 7,169 USD/ton, significantly higher than that of Indonesia (6,398 USD/ton) and Brazil (4,541 USD/ton). According to VPSA, by the end of October 2025, China was Vietnam's third largest pepper consumer market, reaching 16,567 tons, up 79.1% over the same period.
However, since the 5% VAT policy took effect on July 1, 2025, many export agents have faced cash flow difficulties due to having to pay taxes before receiving refunds. This tax has caused profits to decline, forcing many businesses to temporarily stop selling to China. In the context of competitive supply from Brazil and Indonesia, which are not subject to similar taxes, the Vietnamese pepper industry is facing the risk of losing market share in this important market.
Thus, the world pepper price today, November 12, 2025, is stable compared to yesterday.
