Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of May 4, 2025 |
According to experts, pepper prices have continued to experience little fluctuation and stability, a result of increased domestic supply during the harvest season, combined with slowing international demand in the short term.
However, with global supply tightening and long-term demand positive, this stabilization may be temporary, with the market likely to experience some volatility or rebound if export orders pick up in May/June 2025.
Meanwhile, the pepper market is showing clear signs of recovery both domestically and internationally. Domestic pepper prices are stable at high levels, while the world market shows a slight upward trend thanks to sustainable demand from the US and Europe, the two main consuming regions.

However, export activities in the second quarter of 2025 may face many challenges. High pepper prices make international transactions more cautious, especially when importing enterprises consider cost pressures. In addition, the risk of adjusting tax policies from the US further narrows long-term orders.
Global supplies are tightening. Vietnam, one of three major exporters along with India and Indonesia, is expected to see a 2% drop in output compared to last year. Meanwhile, India’s output could plunge by as much as 25% due to extreme weather. In Vietnam, the 2025 pepper harvest is nearing its end, delayed compared to previous years due to prolonged drought, which has significantly affected output.

Update world pepper prices on the morning of May 4, 2025 |
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), although pepper prices have increased compared to the same period last year, replanting activities have not been strong due to a lack of new cultivated land, and people have switched to crops with higher economic value.
With the current pepper price, farmers not only have high income but also have the motivation to invest and take better care of their pepper gardens, thereby increasing economic efficiency and stabilizing their lives. In addition, high pepper prices also encourage farmers to stockpile products, helping to reduce selling pressure during the harvest.
