Domestically, Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC raised the buying price of gold bars to 103.4 million VND, selling price to 106.4 million VND, an increase of 2.8 million VND compared to the end of yesterday. Other gold and silver trading companies also sold gold bars in SJC. This is an unprecedented high price. Currently, each tael of SJC gold bars is 6 million VND higher than the world price . Gold rings with 4 number 9s at SJC also increased like gold bars when they were bought at 103.4 million VND, sold at 106.43 million VND.

Gold price on the morning of April 11 increased to an unprecedented record, surpassing 106 million VND/tael.

World gold prices increased due to the continued demand for safe havens when the US stock market plunged on April 10. Gold increased sharply and reached a new peak in the context of global economic fluctuations due to trade tensions. Recently, the White House said that after the latest decree to increase tariffs on China to 125% plus the previous 20%, tariffs on goods from this country entering the US will be up to 145%.

According to Bloomberg data, last week, Chinese investors, mainly individual investors, poured a record amount of up to 7.6 billion yuan (about 1 billion USD) into four major gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including Huaan Yifu Gold ETF. The amount of money poured into Chinese gold ETFs so far this year is equivalent to 4/5 of the amount of money poured into the whole of 2024. If this trend continues, Chinese gold ETFs will soon become a serious competitor to ETFs in developed markets, said Michael Hsueh, precious metals analyst at Deutsche Bank. The increase in gold holdings of large investment funds and central banks in many countries is a major reason for the recent surge in gold prices./.
