World gold price today dropped sharply by 42 USD/ounce
Gold prices fluctuated sharply as some US Federal Reserve policymakers recommended that the organization should wait a few more months to ensure inflation has truly cooled before starting to cut interest rates.
In response to this news, the USD increased in value against the Euro and many other currencies. Gold prices today fell into a disadvantageous position.
Under pressure from the USD, speculators may be worried that holding gold will reduce the level of profitability. Therefore, in the trading session last night, when gold was trading in the range of 2,400 USD/ounce, they rushed to sell.
Accordingly, at 6:00 a.m. on May 23, the world gold price dropped to 2,380 USD/ounce, a sharp decrease of 42 USD compared to the same time the previous day at 2,422 USD/ounce.
Previously, in Vietnam, on May 22, the price of SJC gold stood at a high of 90.9 million VND/tael. The price of gold rings produced by SJC and PNJ companies was 77.5 million VND/tael.
